Last Book Read:
  "The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand."

Favorite TV Show:
  "Seinfeld."

Musical Tastes:

Embarrassing Hockey Memory:
"That's probably it, too. Actually, on the ice it would be getting hit and then my helmet spinning around on my head, with the back so I couldn't see where I was going on the ice. I was trying to fix it and I couldn't."

Strangest Game:
"In junior, there was a game that was 10-7 and it just seemed like every three seconds there was a goal. And we were playing an inter-league Quebec team. I think it was like 10-7 and that was the highest scoring game. Versus Victoriaville, they had Antoine Vermette."

I love Wellwood. And it's refreshing that he's an NHLer who reads books that aren't just autobiographies or biographies, and that country isn't his favourite music. Honestly, so many players are so damn bland. And he's twenty-five and unmarried. Honestly, i don't get most players - they seem to get married and have kids as fast as possible. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, it's just a little confusing when you're outside looking in. I'm just happy to read an article about a player who doesn't sound exactly like everyone else is all.

Toronto messed up several players including Wellwood; by putting them on the ice with Matts Sundin! It destroyed creativity as all they tried to do was feed Sundin! Then you are dropped back to a checking line and do it or go down to the minors. John Leclair was a great example of this at the start of his carrer in Montreal! He was the complete package in the 93 playoffs:hit, dig the puck out of the corner and score. Next season he is on a checking line;with nobody to give the puck to or get it from.

Getting to know Wellwood is about as important as getting to know Vanilla Ice. Why bother? As soon as Sundin shows up and starts playing, he's back on the farm where he belongs. All the guys in the pressbox can write a blog about a different side of him, because he'll have lots of time to talk to them.
