The fabulous freshman had the game on his stick on the weekend and once again he came through. He may not have been able to lift Team USA to glory at the world juniors, but Eichel is still an incredible young player.
When Boston University needs a boost, the Terriers know where to find it. Freshman Jack Eichel has been money for the team all season long, leading the Terriers in scoring and coming through in the clutch. The latest example came this weekend with B.U. facing off against UMass-Lowell in a game that would decide first place in Hockey East.
The Terriers got a power play in overtime and that's when Eichel went to work. Fast-forward to 1:45 in the clip below to see Eichel win the faceoff and then moments later blast home the winner:

The Terriers are now a perfect 9-0 when Eichel scores and the fabulous freshman still leads the nation in offense with 34 points in 20 games.
While Eichel's showing at the world juniors for Team USA wasn't as great as expected, he was still a young player in the tourney, with the added pressure of the captaincy on his shoulders. Did Connor McDavid provide some separation between the two 2015 super-prospects? Maybe in the short-term, but as Eichel showed against UMass-Lowell, he is still an incredible talent and No. 2 in the draft rankings with a bullet.
