Bruins prospect Zach Senyshyn scores with incredible move on end-to-end rush

When the Bruins traded Dougie Hamilton to the Flames, they received Calgary’s first-round pick in return. Boston used the 15th-overall selection to take Zach Senyshyn, who wowed the crowd in Saginaw Wednesday with an incredible end-to-end rush.

When the Boston shipped Dougie Hamilton to the Calgary Flames, the Bruins received in return a package that included a 2015 first-round pick, which was the 15th overall selection.

The Bruins used the pick to select Zach Senyshyn from the OHL, and while the return for Hamilton won’t help Boston quite yet, fans in Beantown might have a reason to get excited. Wednesday night, Senyshyn, who is currently playing for the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, scored an absolutely stunning goal on the Saginaw Spirit thanks to a one-man effort that needs to be seen.

After picking up the puck in his own end, Senyshyn went end-to-end and used his strength to ward off one defender before cutting back against the grain with a half-spinning deke. Senyshyn then waited out the goaltender, picked his spot and fired the puck home, via Weekend At Bergys:

Senyshyn’s marker was his 10th in 16 games this season, putting him into a tie for sixth in the OHL. The 18-year-old right winger had his first full season in the OHL in 2014-15 and notched 26 goals and 45 points in 66 outings, but he is well on pace to surpass that total. Through 16 games, Senyshyn has scored 13 points, putting him on a 53-point pace for the campaign.

At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Senyshyn’s frame and gift of speed are two qualities that could turn him into an easy fan-favorite in Boston. And if he bangs home a few highlight-reel goals like his marker Wednesday in Saginaw, Bruins fans will be more than happy with the Hamilton trade.
