VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canucks assigned defenceman Nolan Baumgartner to Manitoba of the AHL and lost defenceman Nathan McIver on waivers to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.
McIver, 23, played in 17 games with the Canucks last season, collecting 52 penalty minutes. In 43 games with the Moose, he had three goals with three assists and 108 penalty minutes.
Baumgartner, 32, spent all last season in the AHL, playing in 18 games with the Moose last season after joining them in February from the Dallas Stars.
He put up six assists and 10 penalty minutes to go with the five goals and 13 assists he collected with the AHL's Iowa Stars.
