The Coachella Valley Firebirds have signed forward Cade Borchardt to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.
A product of Burnsville, Minn., Borchardt spent this past season playing for the Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL) where he scored 24 goals and added 53 assists for 77 points in 71 regular season games. He also appeared in 18 playoff games with the Mavericks, putting up 11 points.
Prior to turning pro, Borchardt spent four seasons at Minnesota State (Mankato) where he had 85 points in 121 career games.
With Borchardt having played his first full professional season in 2023-24, he showed how he could impact the ECHL on a nightly basis. Having finished seventh in the ECHL in points, Borchardt gets a well-deserved opportunity to play in the AHL next season.
