The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed defenseman Jake Christiansen to a one-year, two-way deal, the team announced Wednesday.
The contract will see Christiansen make $775,000 at the NHL level and $350,000 at the AHL level with a $400,000 guarantee.
A product of West Vancouver, B.C., Christiansen spent this past season split between the Blue Jackets and Cleveland Monsters. In 12 games with Columbus, he had two assists. With Cleveland, Christiansen scored 13 goals and added 33 assists for 46 points in 62 regular season games.
With the Monsters making the Calder Cup playoffs, Christiansen also scored one goal in four playoff games.
Having gone undrafted, Christiansen spent four seasons with the Everett Silvertips (WHL) before getting a short nine game AHL stint with the Stockton Heat in 2019-20.
After his pro stint with Stockton, he returned to the Silvertips for one final season before signing with the Blue Jackets. Since then, he has played in 44 NHL games and collected seven points.
While he initially filed for arbitration, Christiansen settled with the Blue Jackets before actually going. Named an AHL All-Star last season, Christiansen should challenge for time in Columbus in 2024-25.
