The Dallas Stars have re-signed forward Mathias Emilio Pettersen to a one-year extension, it was announced this past week.
The deal will see Pettersen make $775,000 at the NHL level and $120,000 at the AHL level.
A product of Manglerud, Norway, Pettersen suited up for both the Calgary Wranglers and Texas Stars this past season. In 54 games with the Wranglers, he scored seven goals and added 23 assists for 30 points, In 12 regular season games with Texas, he had four goals and eight points.
Appearing in the Calder Cup playoffs as well, Pettersen had two goals and three assists for five points in seven playoff games with the Stars.
Acquired by Dallas in March for Riley Damiani, Pettersen showed he could be a valuable depth piece for the Stars and they signed him to an extension. Pettersen could be a potential call-up option for Dallas if they encounter injury trouble next season.
