Brochu spent time in both the AHL and ECHL last season

The Bakersfield Condors have signed goaltender Brett Brochu to a one-year, two-way deal, it was announced Thursday.

A product of Belle River, Ont., Brochu spent this past season playing for the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL), posting a 7-11-1 record to go along with a 2.66 GAA and a .920 SV% in 20 appearances. Brochu also made one appearance with the Manitoba Moose.

Prior to turning pro last season, Brochu played in the OHL with the London Knights. Across parts of three seasons with the team, he posted a 89-34-4 record, a 2.67 GAA and a .910 SV%.

As Brochu looks to establish himself as a full-time AHL goalie, he has the athleticism to do it. Although some may consider him undersize at 6-feet, Brochu covers the net well and does a good job moving laterally to track the puck.
