The Cleveland Monsters have re-signed forward Jake Gaudet to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.
A native of Ottawa, Ont., Gaudet spent time with both the Monsters and the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) last season. With Cleveland, he scored seven goals and added five assists for 12 points in 49 regular season games. In Cincinnati, Gaudet collected seven points in 10 games.
Having turned pro at the end of the 2020-21 season, Gaudet has spent the majority of his career with the Monsters, collecting 25 points in 117 career AHL regular season games.
Prior to that, Gaudet spent four years in the NCAA with UMass, putting up 53 points in 124 games and serving as captain in his final season.
With Gaudet returning for his fourth full season with the Monsters, he will have the opportunity to build upon his success from last season. Although he split time between the AHL and ECHL, Gaudet had a solid playoff run with the Monsters and proved to be a reliable depth piece for the team.
