Angle spent time with the Monsters and Columbus Blue Jackets last season

Former Cleveland Monsters forward Tyler Angle has signed a one-year deal with Düsseldorfer EG (DEL) in Germany, it was announced Friday.

Drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Angle spent time with both the Blue Jackets and the Monsters this past season. With the Monsters, Angle scored eight goals and added eight assists for 16 points in 40 games. In two games with Columbus, he went pointless.

A product of Niagara Falls, Ont., Angle turned pro with the Blue Jackets organization in 2020. Prior to that, he spent parts of four seasons playing with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires, where he put up 132 points in 228 career regular season games.

Still only 23, Angle departs the Monsters for Germany where he will have the opportunity to play a big role out of the gates. A skilled player with the puck on his stick, Angle will reunite with former Monsters' teammate Justin Richards in 2024-25.
