Former Iowa Wild forward Tyler Madden has signed a one-year deal in Germany with the Straubing Tigers, it was announced late last week.

A 2018 third round pick of the Vancouver Canucks, Madden split time this past season between the Wild and the Ontario Reign. Over a combined 67 regular season games, he scored 10 goals and added 25 assists for 35 points.

Hailing from Albany, N.Y., Madden turned pro in 2020 and has since appeared in 271 career AHL regular season games. In that time frame, Madden collected 60 goals and 78 assists for 138 points. Prior to that, Madden spent two seasons playing collegiate hockey at Northeastern.

Heading overseas for the first time in his career, Madden was unfortunately never able to break through in the Los Angeles Kings organization. About to begin his journey in Germany's top pro league (DEL), Madden should find immediate success as a go-to player for the Tigers.
