Former Syracuse Crunch defender Quinn Schmiemann has signed a two-year deal with HC Litvinov in Czechia, it was announced Thursday.
Schmiemann, a 2019 sixth round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning, spent this past year splitting time between HK Dukla Trencin in Slovakia and Farjestad BK in Sweden. Over 37 games with HK Dukla Trencin, he scored five goals and added 13 assists for 18 points. In seven SHL games, Schmiemann collected three assists.
Having turned pro in 2022, Schmiemann spent parts of two seasons playing in the AHL with the Crunch and the Abbotsford Canucks, putting up four goals and 14 points in 67 regular season games. Prior to that, Schmiemann spent parts of five seasons with the WHL's Kamloops Blazers.
With Schmiemann heading to join Czechia's top pro league, he should figure prominently in Dukla Trencin's their lineup next year. Capable of contributing on both ends of the ice, it should not be surprising to see Schmiemann playing in all situations for his team.
