The Laval Rocket have hired Daniel Jacob as an assistant coach, the team announced Wednesday.
A native of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., Jacob spent the 2023-24 season working as an assistant coach for the Syracuse Crunch.
Jacob is no stranger to the Rocket as he worked for them in the same role from 2018-2021.
Although Jacob stepped into coaching full-time in 2010 after a six-year pro career, he initially got his first coaching gig while he was still an active player.
While playing pro in Serbia during the 2007-08 season, Jacob served as an assistant coach for Serbia's U20 team at the D-3 World Junior Championships.
Returning to Canada in 2010, Jacob joined McGill University (USports) as an assistant coach. After working for the Redbirds for four seasons, Jacob would go on to serve as an assistant coach for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, Laval Rocket, San Diego Gulls and Syracuse Crunch before making his way back to the Rocket in his current position.
Jacob will look to help guide the Rocket back to the playoffs after they missed them this past season.
