The Milwaukee Admirals have signed defenseman Chad Nychuk to a one-year, two-way deal, the team announced Tuesday.
Nychuk, a product of Rossburn, Man., split this past season between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL). In 13 games with Abbotsford, Nychuk collected three points. With the Wings, he scored one goal and added 11 assists for 12 points in 24 regular season games.
Before turning pro in 2022, Nychuk played junior hockey in the MJHL (Waywayseecappo Wolverines) and WHL (Brandon Wheat Kings).
Having signed a two-way deal, Nychuk will most likely see time in both the AHL and ECHL this season. He showed he was capable of contributing on the offensive side of the puck and can be good depth for the Admirals blueline if someone goes down with an injury.
