Gazizov spent last season with the OHL's London Knights

The San Diego Gulls have signed forward Ruslan Gazizov to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.

A product of Novy Urengoy, Russia, Gazizov spent last season playing for the OHL's London Knights where he scored 36 goals and added 45 assists for 81 points in 63 regular season games. He also added 14 points in 15 playoff games.

Drafted by the Knights in the first round of the 2021 CHL Import Draft, Gazizov played in 173 career OHL regular season games, putting up 157 points.

Although Gazizov still had a year of junior eligibility remaining, the Knights already used up both of their import slots for the 2024-25 season, indicating that Gazizov would not be back with the team. As he makes the jump to the pro game, he will be one to watch. He displayed a knack of producing scoring chances whenever he touched the puck last season and will be fun to watch on the Gulls.
