Harpur spent the majority of the season in the ECHL, Walford joined the Crunch after playing in USports

The Syracuse Crunch have re-signed defensemen Chris Harpur and Scott Walford to one-year AHL contracts, the team announced Thursday.

Harpur, a product of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., split this past season between the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) and the Crunch. In 28 regular season games with the Solar Bears, Harpur had three goals and six assists for nine points. In 17 regular season games with the Crunch, he had four assists.

Walford, a native of Coquitlam, B.C., spent this past season with McGill University (USports) before joining the Crunch on an ATO to end the season.

Walford had four goals and 20 assists for 24 points in 20 regular season games with McGill while adding three assists in six playoff games. Walford also appeared in five games with the Crunch but was held pointless.

As both players return to the Crunch for next season, it will be interesting to see if they make the team out of camp. While it is likely that both see AHL games next season, both of them could see ECHL action as well.
