Condotta was named the fifth captain in Rocket history
The Laval Rocket have named their leadership group for the 2024-25 season, the team announced Friday.
Forward Lucas Condotta was named as the fifth captain in franchise history while Brandon Gignac and Tyler Wotherspoon will serve as alternate captains.
A product of Georgetown, Ont., Condotta is entering his third full season with the Rocket organization. In 2023-24, he scored eight goals and added 11 assists for 19 points in 65 regular season games. He has also seen four career NHL games, collecting a goal in the process.
Drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft, Gignac is entering his fourth season with the Rocket. In 61 games last season, he collected 19 goals and 36 assists for 55 points.
Rounding out the leadership group, Wotherspoon joins the Rocket after spending the past three seasons with the Utica Comets. A 2011 second-round pick of the Calgary Flames, Wotherspoon has played in 30 career NHL regular season games, putting up five assists.
