Sedley earns his first AHL opportunity since turning pro this year

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms have recalled defenseman Sam Sedley from the ECHL's Reading Royals, it was announced Thursday.

Sedley, a product of St. Mary's Ont., has appeared in 17 games with the Royals in 2024-25, collecting one goal and 10 points.

Prior to turning pro this season, Sedley played parts of four seasons in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack. In 236 career OHL regular season games, he scored 21 goals and added 147 assists for 168 points.

A smart, offensive minded defender, Sedley has clearly not had a problem transitioning to the pro game and earning the trust of his coaches. As someone who has played an important role for the Royals right out of the gates, Sedley was rewarded with his recall and could very well stick with the Phantoms.
