The Rockford IceHogs have re-signed forward Ryan Gagnier and defenseman D.J. King to one-year AHL extensions, the team announced Thursday.
Gagnier, a product of Tecumseh, Ont., split time between the Indy Fuel (ECHL) and the IceHogs last season. In five games with Rockford, he registered a goal. With Indy, he scored eight goals and added 20 assists for 28 points in 53 regular season games.
Gagnier also appeared in five playoff games with the Fuel where he went pointless.
King, a product of Scottsdale, Ariz., spent the entire season with the Fuel, where he had four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 57 regular season games. King also registered an assist in five playoff games.
"Ryan's rookie season saw him play games in both Indy and Rockford, and we were impressed with his progression throughout the year," said IceHogs general manager and president of hockey ops Mark Bernard in the team's press release. "He is a smart player that will continue to develop, and we're happy it's within our organization."
"D.J. did a great job last year in Indy for us and adds depth to our back end," Bernard added.
