Winterton has played in seven games for the Firebirds this season
The Seattle Kraken have recalled forward Ryan Winterton from the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the team announced Tuesday.
Drafted by the Kraken in the third round of the 2021 NHL Draft, Winterton has spent all of his time this season with the Firebirds, collecting three goals and five points in seven games.
A product of Markham, Ont., Winterton turned pro in 2023-24, appearing in nine games for the Kraken last season where he went pointless. Before making the jump to the pro game, Winterton played junior hockey in the OHL with the Hamilton Bulldogs and the London Knights.
As Winterton joins the Kraken for the first time this season, he will have the opportunity to make an impression on the coaching staff. Although he is still only in his second pro season, Winterton has shown he has the skill to move up and down the lineup and could seize a role with the team in the very near future.
