The ECHL's Savannah Ghost Pirates have signed defenseman Will Riedell to a one-year deal, the team announced Friday.
Riedell, who hails from Greensboro, N.C., spent this past season playing for the Rapid City Rush (ECHL) and the Calgary Wranglers. In 32 games with the Ghost Pirates, Riedell scored seven goals and added 10 assists for 17 points. With the Wranglers, he had five points in 16 regular season games.
Before transitioning to the pro game, Riedell spent five seasons playing in the NCAA (four at Lake Superior State & one at Ohio State), collecting 20 goals and 41 assists for 61 points in 171 regular season games.
As Riedell makes his way back to Savannah - he spent time there during the 2022-23 season - he should figure heavily into their lineup. He has shown the ability to be a contributor at the ECHL level and should be an immediate impact player for the Ghost Pirates.
