This seems to get harder every year. The third installment of our Prospects Unlimited Top 100 was a bear to put together, simply because there is so much talent out there. The rankings are based on top-end potential for all players born in 1997 or later (so a late 1996 birthday like Jack Eichel is not eligible). We're projecting what the forwards will be like at age 23, the defensemen at 24 and the goalies at 25. Hockey insiders, Future Watch and senior associate writer Ryan Kennedy's draft rankings were consulted in compiling the list.
