Bet: Wyatt Johnston to win Conn Smythe trophy (+1200)
One of the many picks I wish I had recommended earlier as entering the playoffs, Johnston was listed +5500 to take home the Conn Smythe and was seen at the time as one of the best players on Dallas with three goals and six points over the teams last seven games in April.
The feeling was for a breakout to happen and he did just that with seven goals and 11 points through 13 playoff games. He made his mark with key goals versus the Golden Knights that helped his team win games three and four to even up the series.

He followed it up with a pair of assists in Game five that helped the Stars score two of their three goals and take the lead in the series. He kept his team alive during their first round matchup with the Golden Knights.
It’ll be a close race as Miro Heiskanen has picked up his play on the defensive side and the offensive side with a team-lead in points at 13 and places second behind Johnston in goals at five. The Finnish defender has been on fire but will find it difficult to continue scoring at such a fast rate from the backend.
It isn’t uncommon for a defender to take home the Conn Smythe but the feeling is that Johnston will stay hot. He finished off his season with the team-lead in goals this season at 32 while only being a 21-year-old.
He’s been a scoring machine and should continue to land on the scoresheet now that he finds himself on the top line with Jason Robertson as his winger, who has also started to heat up with three goals and nine assists in 13 playoff games
