Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin has nine goals and 17 points over his last 16 games against the Maple Leafs.

Monday has a pair of matchups for hockey fans to enjoy but give us a limited amount of opportunities to look out for another addition to our Pad Stacking Challenge.

If you aren’t familiar, our new betting challenge uses the concept of building our bank and rolling over our profits. We do this by stacking our winnings through well-researched picks given out daily that will hopefully build our bank.

If you’ve been involved with the challenge since we started, we rolled our initial $10 into $219 before being downed thanks to Quinton Byfield failing to secure a point. We’ve attempted two more times to get the ball rolling but have been unsuccessful.

Tonight we are very limited in choices for a solid pick but we did find something promising in tonight’s matchup between the Penguins and Leafs.

All betting lines are from BetMGM and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Bet: Evgeni Malkin Over 0.5 points (-130)

The headlines have surrounded Sidney Crosby as of late for his stellar play when longtime teammate Evgenj Malkin has also elevated his play with six goals and 12 points over his last 11 games.

The Russian had an impressive run against the Leafs with nine goals and 17 points over a 13-game span before going without a point in their last three matchups.

The Leafs have been known to let teams stick around when playing at home with the sixth-most goals scored (139) yet the eighth-most goals-allowed (127) this season.

Toronto’s Ilya Samsonov has a rough history in this matchup with three or more goals allowed in five of his six career appearances against the Penguins. The Crosby top line should find the back of the net once with Malkin’s line also finding one as he will be lined up with former Maple Leaf Michael Bunting, who will be extra motivated to find the scoresheet against his former team.
