The 2023-24 NHL season ended with an epic Stanley Cup Final. Edmonton Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch made a comment that many disagreed with on June 14 when the Oilers trailed the Florida Panthers 3-0.
"I think we've shown that we can beat this team," Knoblauch said after losing game three of the Stanley Cup Final.
The Oilers charged back to take the series to a Stanley Cup-deciding game 7 that the Florida Panthers won 2-1.
How has the outcome of the Stanley Cup Final impacted key players card values from both teams?
There is a lot to unpack here. On one hand, McDavid failed to put up a single point in the final two games of the Stanley Cup Final. Game seven was a legacy building moment for McDavid and he failed to hit the scoresheet. McDavid had his moments, but failed to capitalize on a number of scoring chances in game seven.
On the other hand, McDavid broke Wayne Gretzky's playoff assist record in the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs and won the Conn Smythe.
This would also be a good time to remind everyone that McDavid has scored 105 or more points over the last four seasons.

McDavid's Young Guns PSA 10 has seen a steady increase in value over the last week as a result of his playoff run. Collectors who were patient during McDavid's playoff run were rewarded with a 30-day increase of over $1,000 (46.9%) for McDavid's Young Guns PSA 10.
The Stanley Cup loss will not negatively impact McDavid's current card values, however it is safe to assume McDavid's values are at their highest since the COVID era.
Matthew Tkachuk's card values have always been somewhat flat. A Stanley Cup victory would have to increase his card values, right?

Unfortunately, Tkachuk's card values have remained flat for the last 30 days. The 26-year-old his in the prime of his career and receives plenty of attention. For whatever reason, hockey card collectors remain reserved when buying and selling his cards.
Opposite to Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart's card values have seen substantial movement over the last week.

Reinhart's card values have nearly doubled over the last 30 days and have seen a large jump as a result of the Stanley Cup victory.
Leon Draisaitl started the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs on a terror. Unfortunately his scoring pace slowed tremendously after the second round. In the coming days we will find out of Draisaitl was playing through an injury.

Draisaitl's card values were on the rise over the last 10 days, but there has not been a sale of his Young Guns PSA 10 since June 23. It is safe to assume Draisaitl's cards will experience a decline in value.
Sergei Bobrovsky experienced pockets of world class goaltending and poor goaltending during the 2024 Stanley Cup Final. At the end of the day, Bobrovsky and the Panthers lifted the Stanley Cup and his card values were also lifted.

Bobrovsky's Young Guns PSA 10 value was on the rise when the Stanley Cup Final started. There has not been a tracked sale of his Young Guns PSA 10 since June 18, but it is safe to assume the upward trajectory will continue.
Happy hunting and collecting!
