Colorado Avalanche Forward Ross Colton was activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday following a morning skate with the team in Detroit.
Colton took a spot among the second power play unit on Saturday morning in a burgundy practice jersey. He confirmed that he will draw back into the lineup against the Detroit Red Wings, on the wing with Mittelstadt and Nichushkin.
Colton has not played a game with the Avalanche since October 28th against the Chicago Blackhawks, where he took a shot from the opposing team that hit him in the foot. He played the rest of the second period after taking the shot but did not return for the third. The following Wednesday, Bednar confirmed he had a broken foot and would be out for 6-8 weeks.
Colton was a crucial member of the team with the best start of his career this season. In 10 games with the team, he had 8 goals and 1 assist. Those eight goals equal roughly half of his total goals last season, 17, through 80 games with the Avalanche. He is on year two of a four-year deal signed with the Avalanche in July of 2023.
