The Adirondack goaltender allowed two or fewer goals in all six appearances in the first round, including three shutouts.
With the win, the Thunder have advanced to the second round of the ECHL's Kelly Cup Playoffs for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
Adirondack will play the Norfolk Admirals, who knocked off Trois-Rivières in six games.
The Thunder got just one goal past Maine netminder Brad Arvanitis, who made 23 saves on 24 shots.
Ryan Wheeler found the back of the net with 8:30 left in the second period after Zach Walker's centering feed deflected off a defender in front of the Maine net. After a couple of whacks at it, Wheeler got the puck to cross over the line.
The goal was reviewed for potential goaltender interference, but the officials determined it was a good goal on the ice.
The Mariners mustered just five shots on goal in the third period as the Thunder killed off its only penalty in the frame. With Arvanitis on the bench, Adirondack's Tristan Ashbrook hit the empty-net goal to put the game on ice.
