Yaniv Perets Becomes the 745th ECHL Player to Reach the NHL Following Relief Appearance with Carolina Hurricanes

Yaniv Perets made his NHL debut for the Carolina Hurricanes in a relief appearance against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

For the first time in four years, an ECHL player has made his NHL debut without an appearance in the AHL.

Yaniv Perets became the first player to play in the National Hockey League without an American League stint since Kaden Fulcher in 2019. 

Perets became the 745th overall ECHL player to reach the NHL, appearing for the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday in a relief outing against the Los Angeles Kings. He stopped the only shot he faced in the 5-2 defeat.

The 23-year-old netminder has suited up for 15 games for the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals, compiling a 6-8-1 record with a 2.62 GAA, .906 SP and one shutout.
