The Greenville Swamp Rabbits center tallied eight points last week, including back-to-back hat tricks.

The ECHL announced Tuesday that Tate Singleton of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits has been named Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb. 2.
It was quite a week for the 5-foot-9, 176-pound center. In three games last week, he tallied back-to-back hat tricks for six goals and added two assists for a total of eight points, leading all league skaters in both categories.
The 26-year-old West Lebanon, N.H. native dished out an assist in a 4-1 road loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones Jan. 29. He kicked things into high gear Jan. 31, scoring a hat trick in a 4-3 win at Indy against the Fuel, then torched the Fuel with another hatty and a helper the following night in a 5-2 win.
Singleton is the first player in Swamp Rabbits history to tally hat tricks in back-to-back games. He has the chance to become the fifth player in ECHL history to get a hatty in three consecutive games when Greenville travels to Estero to take on the Florida Everblades Wednesday. Wheeling’s Steve Gibson was the last to accomplish that feat on March 16, 18 and 21, 1997.
Under contract to the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League, Singleton has 27 points (13-14-27) in 30 games for Greenville this season. He has also skated in six games with the Reign.
In 89 career ECHL games with the Swamp Rabbits and Newfoundland Growlers, Singleton has 75 points (38-37-75), while adding a goal and five assists for six points in 18 career AHL games with Ontario and Toronto.
Before he turned pro, Singleton played NCAA hockey at Ohio State and registered 70 points (33-37-70) in 140 appearances.
Singleton played junior hockey with Central Illinois of the USHL, posting 37 points (22-15-37) in 53 games.
On behalf of Tate Singleton, a case of pucks will be donated by Inglasco to a Greenville youth hockey organization.
