On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues and/or for daily fantasy games.

Matthew Schaefer, NYI vs SJ (74% rostered) - FanDuel $5,300
Schaefer has somewhat surprised even his biggest supports, as he is the youngest player in NHL history to start his career with a five-game point streak. The first overall pick in this year's draft, Schaefer, In his first five games, has accumulated a goal, four assists, 15 shots on net, four blocked shots, two hits and a minus-1 rating. He also basically has taken over as the first unit power-play quarterback.

Dmitry Orlov, SJ @ NYI (15% rostered) - FanDuel $3,400
Orlov is serving as the Sharks' top power play blueliner. That is not where he normally has played but he has proven to be the best option for the time being in San Jose. If Orlov remains in that position, he should push for a return to the 30-point mark for the first time since 2022-23, when he had 36 points over 66 contests between Washington and Boston.

Filip Hronek, VAN @ PIT (36% rostered) - FanDuel $4,000
Hronek is off to a somewhat slow start, but does have three assists his last three games. His value is in deeper leagues, increased mildly by skating on the Canucks' top defensive pairing with Quinn Hughes. In addition, he is Vancouver's second power unit quarterback, though he has not produced much on the man-advantage recently.

Charlie McAvoy, BOS vs.  FLA (92% rostered) - FanDuel $4,700
McAvoy, healthy again after last season's shoulder injury cost him the last 30-plus games, is seeing copious ice time, skating 24:28 a contest, including 3:44 on the man-advantage. He has notched four assists in seven contests, adding 13 hits and as many blocked shots in that span. McAvoy's production has declined each of the past few seasons but he is the unquestioned top offensive weapon from the B's blueline.

Zach Werenski, CLM @ DAL (100% rostered) - FanDuel $8,100
If you are going to splurge on a defenseman, you could do much worse than paying for Werenski. He went from 57 to 82 points last season and he has already notched a goal and three helpers in five contests this season.  Werenski is skating 26+  minutes a game, including just over three minutes on the man-advantage, With all the offensive weapons in Columbus, Werenski is a good bid to contnue his fine offensive output.
