Montreal Canadiens fans can finally play a usable Slafkovsky card in NHL 24 HUT
One of the highest requests for maybe the past month has been for EA SPORTS to give Habs fans an upgraded Juraj Slafkovsky card in HUT. They did give him an 84-rated Live Moments card not too long ago, but at 84 overall, and at this time of year, even for a theme team, that card wasn't usable.
The first overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft has been under a ton of scrutiny really ever since he was drafted, as Canadiens fans murmured over his selection.
Last season, Slafkovsky entered the league and appeared he wasn't ready for the NHL pace before suffering a season-ending injury to his left knee that cut his rookie year short in mid-January.
This season didn't start great for the young Slovak as he went 11 games before scoring his first of the season and only had scored two goals in his first 31 games. The Slafkovsky critics immediately started to jump on the young winger, making claims of being a "bust" already.
Montreal head coach Martin St. Louis started to give him more ice time and put the sophomore in more spots to showcase his talent and succeed. Slafkovsky has taken advantage of his opportunity to play higher in the lineup and getting utilized on Montreal's number-one powerplay unit.
Recently, he had an eight-game point streak — snapped on Wednesday against Buffalo — scoring six goals and twelve points in those eight games. He's now up to 12 goals and 30 points on the season in 57 games. He has clearly been playing with a lot more confidence as of late.
The latest release of Next Gen cards in the game featured a 90 overall Juraj Slafkovsky card that is very good. Below are the four new cards.

His card has solid speed and acceleration at 92, along with excellent shooting stats — 94 wrist shot power and accuracy — and synergies of Shooting Boost and Sniper Forward to choose from.
The card's zone ability is Unstoppable Force, making what is already a massive player even harder to knock off the puck. Truculence, Puck on a String, and Close Quarters round out its superstar abilities.
