Despite missing practice on Monday, Chris Kreider will play for the Rangers tonight in Game 6 against the Hurricanes.

New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider officially confirmed that he is good to play for Game 6 tonight.

The 33-year-old missed practice on Monday in what was reported to be for maintenance reasons, but coach Peter Laviolette made the situation a little bit more confusing with his comments yesterday.

“I’m hoping that today was just a normal playoff maintenance,” Laviolette said after practice.

Whether or not Kreider sustained any sort of injury is not so clear, but his confirmation that he will be available is a positive sign that everything is ok.

Kreider’s impact and skill sets that he brings to the Rangers is very well documented and his presence in the lineup tonight will certainly help New York’s chances at closing out this series against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Through nine playoff games this year, Kreider has four goals, three assists and seven points while averaging 19:22 minutes of icetime.
