We loaded up NHL 24 and hopped into the 2024 NHL Draft to make the selections for Utah's inaugural NHL Draft.
We're in one of the most exciting times of the hockey season. The Stanley Cup Final is about to get underway and the NHL Draft is quickly approaching, meaning fans are starting to dive into scouting reports and research who their team could draft on Jun. 28 & 29.
In honor of their inaugural NHL Draft, we decided to make the selections for Utah and give our prediction on who they could be picking come late June.
Since EA Sports does not have Russian prospects or players playing in the NCAA or USHL in their game, we spent a lot of time making the top prospects from those regions and adjusted the draft rankings to best resemble what we see in real life.
We were able to have our first season simulation end perfectly with Utah picking sixth overall, which is perfect because that is where they will be making their first-ever NHL Draft selection in real life. Since some of the other picks weren’t as accurate, we made selections of players who we best thought would be available at the time of their selection.
