Buyalsky entered the transfer portal in April but ultimately elected to sign in the KHL

Former Vermont forward Andrei Buyalsky has signed with Barys Astana in the KHL, Brad Elliott Schlossman reported Wednesday.

A 2021 third-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche, Buyalsky entered the transfer portal in April after spending three seasons with the Catamounts.

A native of Karaganda, KAZ., Buyalsky scored three goals and added eight assists for 11 points in 25 games this past season. In 62 career NCAA games, Buyalsky had eight goals and 21 assists for 29 points.

Prior to joining the Catamounts, Buyalsky spent part of one season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL) where he had 32 points in 36 games.

As Buyalsky begins his career overseas, he is most likely not going to factor into the Avalanche's future plans.
