Long Island Gulls defenseman Rhys Medved has committed to Maine, it was announced earlier this week.

A native of Elizabeth, PA, Medved has 33 points (three goals, 30 assists) in 57 games for the Gulls 16U AAA team this season. Medved tallied 74 points (20 goals, 54 assists) for the Gulls 15U AAA team in 79 games during the 2023-24 season.

Prior to joining the Gulls, Medved played 15 games for Elizabeth Forward High in the USHS-PA during the 2022-23 campaign, recording 21 points (13 goals, eight assists).

Born in 2008, Medved is expected to make the jump to Maine for the 2026-27 season. Already standing at six feet tall, Medved has ample time to continue to grow and develop as a player.
