On Saturday night, New Jersey Devils winger Jesper Bratt etched his name into the record books.
At the 7:13 mark of the second period against the Ottawa Senators, Bratt passed the puck to Nico Hischier, who potted his 30th goal of the season.
It marked the Swede's 61st assist of the 2024-25 campaign, which surpassed Scott Stevens (1993-94) for the most assists in a single season in franchise history.
"It feels good but would have felt a lot better if it led to a win," Bratt said. "Maybe later on, I will appreciate it. I am thankful and proud of it. I just want to continue helping the team win games and score goals."
The 26-year-old finished the game with 81 points, two shy of his career-high of 83. At the time of publication, he is tied with Cale Makar for the ninth most points in the NHL and the sixth most assists.
Bratt and the Devils will be back in action on Monday night when the team hosts the Vancouver Canucks.
