Matt Martin may have hung up the skates after an incredible New York Islanders career, but his impact on Long Island is far from finished.
On Monday, Sept. 8, join Martin and his teammates -- past and present -- at the annual Matt Martin Foundation Poker Night, presented by Northwell Health. The event will take place at Opus Steakhouse on Jericho Turnpike, with doors opening at 6 PM ET.
Poker begins at 7 PM ET.
Proceeds from the event are being used to support the training of Service Dog Gillies, who will serve as a therapy dog for the Suffolk County Police Department.

Gillies is named in honor of the late Islanders legend Clark Gillies, whose legacy of leadership and community service has inspired Martin and countless others.
“Clark always went out of his way to welcome players into the organization. I think he epitomizes what it means to be an Islander," Martin said back in 2022. "I remember when I met him for the first time, I always thought ‘that’s who I want to be when I grow up.’
Most of the current Islanders team will be there in support, which makes it a tremendous opportunity for fans to get to know their favorite team in a more intimate setting.
Tickets are running out with only a few poker spots and spectator tickets left.
