Ryan Lindgren Claims ‘A Lot Of Stuff Going On’ With Rangers This Season

Ryan Lindgren officially touched down in Denver and was practicing with the Colorado Avalanche just one day after being traded from the New York Rangers.

It’s been a weird season for both Lindgren and the Rangers.

The 27-year-old defenseman did not hold back his feelings about how this year has gone and his excitement for a fresh start.

“It definitely was up and down,” Lindgren said. “There was a lot of stuff going on. It’s nice to just come here and move on. It’s a new chapter here.”

It’s unclear if Lindgren is talking about himself or the overall drama behind the scenes within the Rangers organization.

Lindgren is one of many Rangers players dealt this season including Jacob Trouba, Kaapo Kakko, Filip Chytil, Jimmy Vesey and soon-to-be Reilly Smith.

Between the fact that he was set to become an unrestricted free agent on top of his underwhelming 2024-25 campaign, it seemed like the writing was on the wall for Lindgren in New York.

“I saw my name floating around, so I definitely thought it was a possibility,” Lindgren said about if he thought he might get traded. “I knew it was a possibility, but I didn’t know for sure if it was going to happen, but like I said, I’m really excited to be here.”

The Rangers traded Lindgren and Vesey to Colorado in exchange for Juuso Parssinen Calvin de Haan, a 2025 second-round pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick.
