Abbotsford Heat lose second straight to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins
WILKES BARRE, Pa. - Eric Tangradi scored twice and Brad Thiessen made 30 saves Friday as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins topped the Abbotsford Heat 5-2 in American Hockey League play.
Joe Vitale, with a goal and two assists, Dustin Jeffrey and Brett Sterling also scored for the Penguins (23-6-0). Jeffrey also picked up an assist, while Steve Wagner added two helpers.
Jon Rheault and Greg Nemisz had the goals for Abbotsford (16-14-3), while Leland Irving stopped 29-of-34 shots.
The Penguins finished the penalty-filled affair 2-for-8 with the man advantage, while the Heat wound up 0-for-4.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defeated Abbotsford 2-1 on Wednesday.
