Alex Kovalev to miss pre-season game with light groin injury

When the Montreal Canadiens take to the ice against the Detroit Red Wings Wednesday night, Alex Kovalev won't be joining them, according to RDS.

The leading scorer on last season's team, Kovalev tweaked his groin and will not be available tonight.

Kovalev scored 35 goals and 85 points in 82 games in 2007-08.

Roman Hamrlik, Patrice Brisebois and Georges Laraque are also out of the lineup with groin injuries.
