Alexandre Giroux scores in overtime as Barons defeat Bulldogs 3-2

HAMILTON - Alexandre Giroux scored the overtime winner as the Oklahoma City Barons beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 in American Hockey League play Sunday.

Giroux scored on Hamilton goaltender Robert Mayer 3:58 into extra time as the Barons improved to 4-4-1.

It was Giroux's 11th career OT winner.

David Desharnais put the Bulldogs (2-1-3) up 1-0 at 10:01 in the first period before the Barons rallied with two goals in the second.

Defenceman Jeff Petry and forward Colin McDonald tallied for Oklahoma City, but Brendon Nash tied it at two for the Bulldogs four minutes into the third to send it to overtime.

Martin Gerber stopped 29 shots in net for the Barons, while Mayer finished with 23 saves.
