After decent NHL debut, rookie Brett Bulmer sent by Wild back to his junior club

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Wild have re-assigned rookie right-winger Brett Bulmer to his junior club.

Bulmer was sent to the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League on Monday. The 19-year-old native of Prince George, B.C., had three assists with a plus-one rating in nine games with the Wild.

Bulmer was the Wild’s second-round draft pick last year. This season would’ve counted toward his three-year contract if he would’ve played in a 10th game so Minnesota sent him back to juniors so he can continue to develop.

Bulmer had 18 goals and 31 assists last season in 57 games for Kelowna. He also played in eight playoff games last season for the Wild’s AHL affiliate, the Houston Aeros.
