Anaheim Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere undergoes hernia surgery

Giguere had the procedure in North Carolina and the Ducks expect him to rejoin the team possibly as early as the club’s first practice on Sept. 10.

The Montreal native led the Ducks to their first Stanley Cup title last season.

He played in 56 games, posting a record of 36-10-8 with four shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.26 and a .918 save percentage.
