Andre Benoit scored go-ahead goal in Hamilton’s 3-1 win over Grand Rapids

Hamilton’s Duncan Milroy opened the scoring in the first period with a power-play marker before Benoit put the Dogs up 2-0, also with a man advantage.

Jonathan Ericsson replied for the Griffins (37-29-6-5) on the power play in the third period cutting the deficit to 2-1, but Jonathan Ferland put the game away with an empty-netter, his 23rd on the season.

Carey Price stopped 27 of 28 shots for Hamilton (41-27-3-6), while Jimmy Howard turned aside 19 of 21 for Grand Rapids.
