What’s up with the NHL’s ruling on unsportsmanlike conduct after Sean Avery’s ridiculous, yet brilliant, tactics in Game 3 of the Rangers-Devils series?
I’m not a fan of Avery in any way, but what he did harmed nobody and it ended up helping his team. He never touched Brodeur, so what are players like Avery, Scott Hartnell, or Ryan Smyth supposed to do now?
If facing a goalie and distracting them is going to be penalized, shouldn’t screening the goalie while facing the other way be called as well?
It’s the same thing, just less noticeable.
