Bergenheim, Islanders look to build off good performance

Phoenix (28-32-5) at NY Islanders (21-37-7), 3:00 pm EDT

UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) — Sean Bergenheim will hope to
build off his first career hat trick as the New York Islanders
host the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday.

Bergenheim’s performance Saturday helped the Islanders hand
Martin Brodeur his first loss since returning from a four-month
absence with a 7-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils.

“I think maybe (Brodeur) had an off-day,” Bergenheim said. “We
had a good game, though. I wouldn’t blame him. It was just us
being good today.”

of its last four contests.

The Coyotes, who are in the midst of a five-game road trip, are
coming off a 5-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Friday.

Matthew Lombardi scored his first goal since being acquired at
the trade deadline for Phoenix, which has lost 13 of its
previous 17 contests.
