The Oilers are wrapping up a five-game homestand. Friday’s 4-1
setback to the San Jose Sharks may have been very costly to
Edmonton, which lost All-Star defenseman Sheldon Souray and Zack
Stortini to injuries.

The 32-year-old Souray departed with just under 13 minutes
remaining in the second period after being slashed on the left
hand by San Jose’s Tomas Plihal. He has recorded a team-leading
12 goals and 17 assists in 38 games this season.

Stortini, who has a goal and three points on the campaign,
injured his leg during a fight with Brad Staubitz.
