Johnson played just one shift in Tampa’s 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday night. He missed three games earlier this season due to an upper body injury.
The Tampa Bay Lightning could be without forward Tyler Johnson when they play host to the New York Islanders on Saturday.
Johnson left Friday night’s 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals following his first shift of the game, which lasted 48 seconds.
The 25-year-old had a shot on goal and threw a hit on Nicklas Backstrom before leaving the game.
Lightning head coach Jon Cooper did not have an update on Johnson postgame.
No update on Johnson after the game, Cooper said too early to say he can’t play tomorrow but hard to see him being able to go

Friday night’s game was Johnson’s second since returning from an upper body injury, which sidelined him for three games.
Johnson has four goals and 11 points in 21 games this season.
