Bridges makes 45 saves as Salmon Kings rout Grizzlies 7-1

The victory gave Victoria – which entered the league in the 2004-05 season – their first playoff berth in team history. Wes Goldie, Milan Gajic, Jordan Krestanovich and Mike Stutzel gave the Salmon Kings a 4-0 lead 10:06 into the match.

Marc-Andre Bernier, Warren McCutcheon and Derek Krestanovich had the other goals for Victoria (31-32-1-3).

Joel Irving replied for Utah (22-38-3-4).

Grizzlies goalie Rob McVicar was lifted 9:41 into the game after allowing goals on the first three shots that he faced. Ben Gray made 22 saves in relief.

Neither club was able to take advantage on the power play, with Victoria failing on four chances and the Grizzlies on three.

The mini-series will continue as Utah hosts the Salmon Kings on Friday and Saturday nights.
