Bruins’ Rask goes all in on Patriots mask for Winter Classic

Tuukka Rask unveiled his Winter Classic mask Thursday and he’s gone all out on the New England Patriots theme. Rask’s mask includes Patriots players Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Stephen Gostkowski, as well as a nod to the Boston Garden.

Canadiens goaltender and Massachusetts native
Mike Condon chose not to go with a mask design that paid homage to New England Patriots — Condon’s hometown NFL team and the team that plays on the very grounds that will host the Winter Classic. But if Condon was hoping to win some cheers from the notoriously tough Boston crowd, Bruins goaltender
Tuukka Rask may have killed that hope. Rask’s unveiled his lid for the 2016 Winter Classic game, which will be played at noon E.T. Friday, and he isn’t just tipping his cap to quarterback Tom Brady. Instead, Rask is putting four major Patriots players on display. While Brady is one of the four, Rask’s mask also features tight end Rob Gronkowski, receiver Julian Edelman and kicker Stephen Gostkowski. Check it out:

according to Rask’s designer did a great job of not crowding the mask but still adding a lot of intricate detail. If you look closely, you can see a Winter Classic logo, a packed Gillette Stadium to watch the Winter Classic game and the back panel shows off the Boston Garden. Rask will get the call for the Bruins in today’s game and will be rocking this mask, which was designed by
Quebec-based Sylabrush, for the contest.
